How to register

Step 1 - Submit your training information and report your choice of AB service provider.

1. Go to the DfE Manage Training Portal
2. Register your ECTs (Top Tip: Use information from your ECT's application form to help).
3. you will be asked 'How you want to run your training in 2024 - 2025?', select 'Use Training Provider funded by the DfE' and confirm.
4. You will then be asked 'Have you appointed an Appropriate Body? If you have chosen an Appropriate Body service provider, please answer 'Yes'
5. You will then be asked 'Which type of appropriate body have you appointed?'  please select 'Teaching School Hub', and on the following page you will be able to enter 'Redhill Teaching School Hub (The Carlton Juniors Academy)'.

 

Step 2 - Add an ECT to the 2024-2025 academic year for induction training.

1. Within the 'Manage Training' portal, click on the heading 'Early Career Teachers' at the top of the 'Manage Training' portal (The Induction Tutor must be logged in to do this).
2. Click the green 'Add ECT' button to add a new ECT, and select the relevant option. 
3. Be aware that you need to input information such as D.O.B, TRN, start date, school email address etc, so have this handy.
4. You will need to select your ECTs Mentor from a list of registered Mentors, or select 'Add or assign Mentor later'.
5. The ECT will be notified by email (on the email address provided) that you have registered them.

To Transfer an ECT from another school to your school: Follow the steps above. Once you have input the transferring ECTs DOB, you will be asked to confirm that the ECT is moving from another school, the date they are moving to your school, and whether the ECT will be continuing with the same Training Provider (if previous provider was Redhill TSH then the answer is yes), or if not you will need to add a new Training Provider.

 

Step 3 - Add a new Mentor to the 2024-2025 academic year for induction training.

1. Within the 'Manage Training' portal, click on the heading 'Mentors' at the top of the 'Manage Training' portal (The Induction Tutor must be logged in to do this).
2. Click the green 'Add Mentors' button to add a new Mentor and select the relevant option. 
3. Be aware that you need to input information such as D.O.B, TRN, start date if they are moving from another school, school email address etc, so have this handy.
4. The Mentor will be notified by email (on the email address provided) that you have registered them.

 

Step 4 - Link a mentor to an ECT

1. To link ECTs and Mentors, the school Induction Tutor needs to sign into the 'DfE Manage Training' portal, and will be guided to their dashboard.
2. Click the 'Early Career Teachers' tab, to see all your ECTs listed on the right, then click 'Assign a Mentor' next to the relevant ECT.
3. This will being up a list of your registered Mentors, select the relevant Mentor and confirm.

 

STEP 5 - Register your school with Redhill Hub's Appropriate Body Service via ECT Manager.

1. If your school is not yet listed on ECT Manager, contact us via enquiries@redhillhub.org.uk, or 07831324490 and we will add your school. 
2. Your school Head and Induction Tutor must sign the application to complete it.
3. When you have registered your school, you can register your ECTs. (There is a lot of information required, so try to complete the application in collaboration with your ECT, but you can save the application and come back to it at a later point).
4. If you have forgotten your login to ECT Manager, you can request a password reset via their website.
5. The cost of the AB Service is charged per ECT. Please go to our website registration page to register the names of your ECTs and pay via Stripe. The cost for our AB service is £220 per ECT per year.
   
   Please note, if your school belongs to one of the Trusts listed below, you do not need to pay via our weblink, your Trust pays as a collective. Redhill Academy Trust, Mitre Trust for Education, Diverse Academies Trust, The Forge Trust.

 

STEP 6 - Register with our lead provider, Education Development Trust (EDT).

1. This form should only be completed if your school has not used Redhill Hub for delivery of the Early Carer Framework before.
2. The form should be completed by the Induction Tutor, or main school contact, and there is no requirement to register individual participants at this point. ECTs and Mentors added to the DfE's 'Manage Training' portal will be sent to EDT.

Please note, if you are registering a second year ECT,  joining one of the 2023/2024 cohorts, there is a different form to use for registration. You can find this here. 

 

What happens next?

EDT will be notified about the registration of your participants by the DfE. Mentors will receive login details from EDT upon successful registration to allow them to complete their induction. ECTs will receive their login details from EDT upon successful registration, on or after 17th July.
